An Erasmus-Plus project to address the new plant-based demand in professional catering!
The demand from vegetarian, vegan, flexitarian customers for a meatless plant-based offer is growing steadily and the market segment which is booming in supermarkets is also currently affecting restaurants! Recent studies show that 46% of customers would appreciate to find a vegetarian offer in restaurants. Therefore our will is to support businesses in developing a genuine customer-wise approach and gain new skills and knowledge to meet vegetarian customers’ expectations. We know from experience that quality vegetarian dishes sell very well.
Our goal for businesses and hospitality schools
Train hospitality staff to help them understand the expectations of vegetarian customers and offer them quality cuisine. Create a network of vegetarian-friendly businesses and schools clearly identified which would like to implement a quality charter. It will lead to the award of a label with a marketing package.
Commitments
Three main commitments are to be made by companies which wish to join:
- Have a meatless plant-based offer to satisfy vegetarian, vegan, flexitarian customers at the same level as the conventional offer,
- Take part in the training of professionals by offering possible upskilling of staff and/ or apprenticeship and/or work -experience placements etc,
- Experiment labelling audits.
Upskilling
Our project is also to offer upskilling for vocational trainers together with restaurant staff, particularly company traineeship mentors, through user-friendly e-learning tools as:

Package
In our experimental phase of the Erasmus-Plus project, the whole package process including the marketing toolkit and the upskilling of staff is completely free of charge, excluding some printing expenses.
